Gun violence has increased in Birmingham as in every other American city but addressing this challenge isn't easy. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, the League of Women Voters of Greater Birmingham (LWVGB) hosted a virtual community meeting with Onoyemi Williams (Faith in Action Alabama) and Dr. Mark Wilson (Jefferson County Department of Health) to discuss the root causes of gun violence in our city and some innovative solutions happening in our area, such as hospital-based violence interruption programs. This meeting was free and open to the public.
